Gymnastics & Trampoline
We introduce a full variety of apparatus, including bars, rope, balance beam and trampoline. Gymnastics develops basic motor skills as well as body and spatial awareness while completing circuits, climbing, swinging, and rolling. Basic gymnastics development can be learnt at any age and includes safe learning of landings, swings and rotations in a structured group environment that emphasizes fun, physical challenge, and safety.
Tots & Preschool (Age 2 - 6)
Through music, songs and physical activity, children interact with others and are introduced to the full variety of apparatus, including bars, rope, balance beam and trampoline. Children develop basic motor skills as well as body and spatial awareness while completing circuits, climbing, swinging, and rolling. Basic gymnastics development includes safe learning of landings, swings and rotations in a structured group environment that emphasizes fun and safety.
Team Gymnastics
The goals of the competitive program are to provide an opportunity for all ages and abilities; to enable all members to reach their fullest potential in physical fitness, striving for excellence and fostering self-esteem; and to promote a sense of community within the membership by developing club and team spirit. Following the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, athletes will be at the training-to-compete or training-to-win stages (depending on level, ability and commitment). Our goal is to provide a successful gymnastics experience within the parameters of time and commitment the Nelson community has proven to be comfortable with. Our highest level athletes train approx 12-14 hours a week and excel at a provincial level.
